Beer. Watch The Boondock Saints. Listen to Irish music. And eat some greens. And try not to get pinched.

My favorite way of spending St. Patrick's Day is sipping Guinness on tap at "The Burren" in Davis Square (Somerville, MA), My husband and I love to trace shamrocks for each other in the foamy head. I love wearing my favorite green sweater and some green bling. Being at the pub during a live music session is paramount...I love to dance to live music...and that tops off the night. Love to dance with my husband and daughter to traditional Irish step dance music.

For us it is all about the corned beef and cabbage. The house always smells so good when the food is cooking. We started getting two pieces of corned beef a couple of years ago because we weren't ending up with any leftovers anymore and that was unacceptable.

The traditional St. Patrick's day should consist of green beer, warm kisses, shamrocks, irish folk music, good food, and the passing of local traditions.
