What is the best (most powerful) Nerf Gun?

Nerf Guns have been around for many years, however it’s only recently that there’s been resurgence in the use of these ‘safe’ guns especially amongst the teenage population. As a whole new generation begins to play games like Capture the Flag, the technology behind these guns has improved vastly and there are now far more choices.

The guns I list on this site are the most popular and some would argue best guns (and weapons) available – I’ll leave it to you to be the judge - please join in the poll at the bottom of this site - if I've missed out any weapons, let me know and I'll check them out!

Wow- when my daughter first ‘shot’ me with a Nerf Gun she went on to explain all about this amazing gun. The Vulcan is a battery powered beast that has a 25 dart clip and can be loaded very quickly – it’s essentially an automatic machine gun and although it is not too accurate, it really is a great covering weapon – also if the batteries die, you can still use the pump action to fire. The only downside is that it can jam pretty easily – and again this is a huge downfall during a battle.

This was the gun that my daughter shot me – she had an evil grin when she demonstrated the modes where she could choose to shoot on shot, or pump the gun and hold the trigger to send shot after shot into my head – this is when I realized that this gun was also very accurate over short distances.

Over the years most Nerf guns have been highly colorful and generally ‘not real’ looking – when Nerf introduced this amazing gun, they began to produce toys that were influenced by real weapons. This is a very versatile gun that can shout small darts, and a missile dart – it gives you the ability to adapt to different conditions, with accuracy, rapid fire and long range shooting possible – additionally, it can also be taken apart to become three distinct guns.

Wow – this is such a cool looking weapon – it’s another great weapon for Medieval style Nerf Games and is superb in close combat with its double heads – like the sword it is very sturdy, and even though it has protective foam it can pack a mean punch!

Ok so this isn’t a gun, but if you want to play in a Medieval style Nerf game then this is a great little weapon – it is sturdy with Nerf Foam edges – and you can actually meat out some pretty mean damage with it! You can also go Ninja and knock arrows out of the air with it!

This wonderfully fun Nerf Bow and Arrow has been around for a long time – it has a long range, approximately sixty feet, and is surprisingly accurate at that range – it has three ‘arrows’ and this lack of ‘ammunition’ is perhaps its biggest downfall – however, with the advent of swords and axes, it’s a great compliment if you want to play Medieval Nerf.

With the advent of many powerful new Nerf guns on the market, this old beauty is often overlooked. It has an automatic rotating chamber that allows you to shoot at a rate of one shot per second (or less) – the advantage of this gun is that it is one of the most accurate pistols that Nerf have made to date.

 This is an interesting little device that uses a pump action to build up pressure allow for the gun to shoot very rapidly and at distances of 60 feet – it’s not the most accurate gun out there, but with the rapid fire, it becomes a very powerful cover weapon.

This is the best selling Nerf Gun and you can see why the minute you pick it up. It allows for six darts to be loaded very quickly and the pump action allow for quick and accurate shooting – while it is not the most powerful gun available, it really is fun to use and out of all the guns available seems to be the sturdiest – many of the other ‘mechanical’ guns seem to jam very easily – and that’s not a good thing to happen mid battle.

While there are plenty of weapons that can shoot out a lot of ‘bullets’ very quickly there aren’t many backup weapons that can be used when other weapons run out of ammo – this nifty little shot gun has a pretty decent range, and is extremely fun to use – it may not be the most powerful out there, but it is so cool!
