Hottest Toys for Christmas 2011

Christmas is always a fun and wonderful time for kids, and it’s surprising what you can buy them for Christmas. While many parents simply opt for video games and electronics (such as Microsoft’s Kinect or Sony’s Move), there are still many hot toys that are fun packed, relatively cheap and don’t involve your children sitting down watching a gaming screen all day!

Here are some of the hottest non ‘video game’ toys for Christmas 2011:

City Airport

I have to admit that some of the fondest memories I have as a child are to do with lego – sadly for me there weren’t any kits available. Now there are so many to choose from, that it is often hard to decide which one to buy.

The Lego City Airport kit is a great little kit that includes everything you would need to setup your own little airport, including the plane and terminal. With everything from crew, to passengers and even a VIP lounge, you’re sure to have endless fun with this kit!

Be aware that this kit contains 703 LEGO pieces and is a choking hazard for young children.

Jet Pack Buzz Light Year

Not only are these Buzz Light Year inflatable wings really cute and cool, but they are also a great way to get your child to exercise! Imagine them running around all over your house as they pretend to be Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear!

Monopoly Revolution

I’m surprised that Monopoly hasn’t changed over the years – well it has bow! With a round board and funky new movers, this game features a whole host of sounds and music to make the game a more interactive one. What is particularly cool is the bank cards that make keeping tally of your score a lot easier!

Zhu Zhu Hamsters

Well these Hamsters certainly have the ‘awwwwww’ factor for Christmas 2011. Not only are they incredibly cute, but they also ‘talk’ back to you, scoot across the floor and definitely become part of your family very quickly.

Vtech Kidizoom Plus Pink Digital Camera

This sturdy little camera can take some great digital pictures, make little video recordings or even play some great video games – it’s easy to use, and suitable for younger children! With in-built memory you can store up to 200 photos or five minutes of video on it.

Fur Real Go Go Walking Pup

Yet another ‘awww’ factor toy for Christmas 2010. The cute electronic puupies are almost like the real thing, aside from the pooping! With a remote control leash, they are excellent companions for children 4+.

Paper Jamz guitar

Not quite ready to buy Rock Band 3 for your child, then get them this innovative Paper Jamz guitar – it’s almost guaranteed to be one of the hottest toys for Christmas 2010. Whether you play freestyle (make your own chords and songs) or play along to the 3 included hits, you’ll find the simple touch paper surface easy to use, and will love all the different ways in which you can become a rock star!

Moon Dough Magic Barnyard

This is a really cool ‘tool’ for young children! With Moon Dough, that never dries out, you can place the dough in the barnyard, turn the handle and produce your favorite Moon Dough animals. It’s fun and safe, and is re-usable! A great present for children this Christmas.

Nerf N Strike Stampede

What can I say about the Stampede? It’s one of Hasbro’s best Nerf Guns yet and is bound to create lots of fun for Christmas 2010. It’s a cool toy that is safe, and as an added bonus it makes your children run around getting fit while they are having fun! With the upsurge in interest in Nerf Guns, it’s sure to be one of the hottest toys for Christmas 2011.

Okay, Simey - I am too old for Lego! But not Monopoly Revolution! LOL! Meanwhile, the NERF Gun sounds like a great fun toy to have around the apartment as my partner and I duke it our around the furniture! Great hub!
