LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader's TIE Fighter

I have to admit that I loved growing up in the seventies. Star Wars had hit the big screen and the whole world changed for many of us as we began to envisage space flight and the ultimate fights we could have against Darth Vader. Back then there were plenty of Star Wars toys to play with and it was great to feel like you were part of the movie!

I’m glad to say that over 30 years later and the Star Wars series is still as popular as ever, and even happier that there are a whole range of lego toys and lego video games that take the Star Wars gaming industry one step further and bring it to the hands of the creative and the young.

Out of all the ‘bad guys’ in Star Wars, Darth Vader was always my favorite. Whether I was Luke Skywalker shooting him out of space, or Darth Vader himself controlling the galaxy, I always had fun when he formed part of the role playing events! There’s something mysterious about him that really makes you want more!

This TIE Advance x1 starfighter is a replica of the one used in the Star Wars movie. Faster than the original TIE fighter it features customized wings, a deflector shield and a hyperdrive to make it far superior to the original and the perfect starfighter for Darth Vader.

The Lego set not only allows you to build the TIE Advance x1 starfighter, but it also gives you a Darth Vader min figure and flick firing missiles to make the model even more fun to build and play with.

What really makes this stand out for me is the accuracy of the model; the step by step instructions are straight forward although you may want to strengthen some of the connections if you intend to play a lot with this model. It really gets young minds thinking as they follow the instructions and then ultimately get to destroy some rebels with the TIE Advance x1 starfighter controlled by Darth Vader.

cindyvine: LOL this is the first time I've actually concentrated on Christmas Hubs - trying to get a decent headstart this year - already sold one 'pre-order' item!
