93A well rounded game..
As I write the walkthroughs for Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim I am beginning to realize that Skyrim is one of the most rounded PC RPG games I have come across. I’m finding the days of creating the meanest warrior with the biggest sword and strongest armor are gone and I really have to think as I improve my character.
The quests and combat make me really delve into strategy; combat is important, but ranged attacks, defense, thieving skills etc all are just as important. With the prevalence of wizards in this quest, I begin to realize just how important it is for me to use the terrain effectively while ensuring I have some decent protection against the spells thrown at me.
It makes the game far more exciting and challenging knowing that the quests will not simply revolved around me charging into combat with my two handed sword. Interestingly, I’m already thinking about the changes I will make next time I run through the game!

Skyrim Walkthrough: Horn of Jurgen Windcaller
Objectives
- Retrieve the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller
- Meet with the ‘thief’
- Return the horn
Your next quest involves retrieving the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller. It’s located north-east of MOrthal in Ustengrav. This is quite a difficult quest as you’re going up against quite a few mages, and will be vulnerable to long range attack – I found myself trying to ensure that only one mage could attack me at a time (near impossible) and then concentrated on using my own range attacks effectively.
This is a large sprawling dungeon that will take quite a while to clear – I suggest you have plenty of potions with you to ensure you can make it through unscathed. You’ll find a large cave eventually – in this cave is a Word Wall – you’ll learn the Word of Power: Fade.
You’re going to have to use Whirlwind Sprint to get through some gates – you will activate the gate using three stones, but will have to be quick and use Whirlwind Sprint – the gates close very quickly so you’re probably going to use this twice.
Of course – you find out that this was all a wild goose chase – you find a note and are told to go to an Inn in Riverwood. Speak to Delphine when you get there and ask for an attic room. Once asleep Delphine will wake you and you’ll get the horn – this also opens up the next quest.
Return the horn to Arngeir in High Hrothgar. Congratulations, after talking to Wulfgar, you’ll have learnt all the words of the full shout of Unrelenting Force.

If you let the dialouge playout the zombies in this dungeun will fight the necromancers and kill most them for you.
I did a cheat for "speak to arngeir" and now when i get up, i speak to him, and he says that i shall talk to wulfgar and learn the power of word, but wulfgar walks out, sits by a fire place, and he never goes back in! how am i supposed learn it? if you know a cheat for the mission it would be great
Vegard, you really shouldn't use cheats in skyrim at all, it defeats the entire purpose of the game. That said, try loading the game before you used the cheat, it should be fine
I have the same problem as vegard... i go to high hrothgar and try to talk to wulfgar but whenever i try to talk to him he doesnt say anything and i can't learn the spell.... i didnt use a cheat either :/
I used no cheats either and all he does is either stand there and stare at me, or kneels on the floor. I have even gone on and played 20+ hours more of random stuff and came back and there he is kneeling. I am getting a little irritated.
technically you don't really talk to Wulfgar you have to follow Arngeir into the middle of High Hrogar they teach you the last word and shout at you twice. Honestly if you can afford it you should invest in the strategy guide it really pays off if you are doing PC I have no idea about the other consoles. If this still doesn't work and you didn't cheat in the game to mess it up try reloading. I hope this helps since I have gone through this quest 4 or 5 times
Hey there, i´ve got the same problem... I talked to Arngeir and he said, that i should go to wulfgar and learn the spell from him... So i followed wulfgar and now he is only standing there and does nothing!If i talk to him nothing happens, and Arngeir isnt in the room btw (don´t know if that is required)... can someone help me please? :(
I have the same problem !! Hopefully bethesda will have a patch for it soon ,ill email the support team to get the ball rolling
Okay... I'm a little miffed at the gates part of this quest. With two words for Slow Time, getting to the gates before they've even opened all the way is easy... but the gates act like they're still closed. Had to come to this guide to find out that you MUST use whirlwind sprint. Nice forethought for whoever made this section of the quest. :P

I was having the same problem, so I used Fus Ro and pushed Arngeir to the doors at Hrothgar. Then he just walked in once we got there. He went to the circle and I learned Dah.
Hopefully that'll work for y'all.
I'm having the same problem :( I can't learn the word from wulfgar ughhh I ranked up to level 30 and i better not have to reset !
he has the word on the ground and he just wont teach it to me and im geting freakin Pissed nothing i have done fix's the problem i have tried pushing him to the door till he walks out and back in real fast iv tried pickpocketing them...didint work very well but il keep trying hope they have a patch soon
