Oblivion Cheats

 There is no doubt that Oblivion is one of the best Role Playing Games to hit the PC ever; with amazing graphics, superb sound including voice and a very open and extensive game play with an excellent main plot, it has set the standard for modern day RPG games and it is nice to see many more games (such as Dragon Age) concentrating more on the actual quest, player interaction and environment rather than the simplistic Hack and Slay concept that is now becoming dated.

I played the original Elder Scrolls game many years ago and even at that time it was innovative and it was obvious that over time an immersive game with a world that was ‘real’ would develop, and I was therefore not surprised at the quality of Oblivion; it is one of the most diverse and complete RPG games I’ve played, and even today, a couple of years after being introduced it still stands up there with the best.

It’s exciting to see the evolution of the RPG genre, and I cannot wait for the next installment in this amazing series.

Some will say that Oblivion is an easy game, and indeed if you play it for months, you will find that eventually there isn’t anything to stop you succeeding in the game; however, you may encounter the odd difficult battle, or simply become stuck and this is where the web comes into play – the internet provides thousands of sites listing hints, tips and cheat codes for Oblivion.

There are a lot of ‘trainers’ available, but I tend to stray away from these as they often require download of a file.

Firstly, I should state that if you are having problems with the game please refer to some of the great walkthroughs available on the web (I have provided some links below). While these walkthroughs, hints and tips will get you through most of the game, I do understand that there may be occasions where you simply cannot progress. Therefore the cheat codes will be useful. Be aware that using these codes can:

• spoil your enjoyment of the game
• destroy the save file or crash the game – you potentially may have to reinstall and lose all saved data.

To use the cheat codes in Oblivion you will be using the developer’s console. To activate the console:

• Ensure the ‘ballowconsole’ setting in Oblivion.ini is set to 1 (this is the default value)
• Start Oblivion and load a saved game
• Click the ‘~’ key (tilde)  - this is the key above TAB on a US keyboard.
• Enter one of the console commands listed in the table below
