NFL Power Rankings 2011 / 2012 season
83NFL Playoff Schedule 2012
The next five weeks will tell us who is the best team in the NFL. The wannabies are gone (Jets and Eagles) and we're down to the cream of the crop. So who are going to be the team that rises to the occasion and who will end up disappointing their fans?
What happened to:
Eages & Jets - both said they would be in the Superbowl, both failed to get to the playoffs - at least the Eagles looked good at the end of the year and have something to build on.
Preview to season:
Well pre-season has come and gone and the season has finally started. Much has been written about the Packers repeating, but it remains to be seen if their defense can hold up over the year.
This year is probably going to throw up some suprises, so hold on to your breaches!

Who will win the Saints v 49ers playoff game?
See results without votingJanuary 14th 4:30PM: Saints v 49ers
The Saints look unstoppable and one wonders whether the lack of experience in the playoffs will diminish the 49ers chances. It’s going to be tough to hold the Saints down and it remains to be seen whether the physical 49ers will be able to stop them.
The 49ers do have a chance though – they’ve gone under the radar this year and have a very balanced team that is efficient and well run. However, the Saints are the form team and will look to show the world that they are here for business.
My Prediction: Saints 38, Niners 23
Who will win the Broncos v Patriots playoff game?
See results without votingJanuary 14th 8:00PM: Broncos v Patriots
With the talk of The Saints and the Packers, all talk of these two teams has been subdued. The Patriots seem to be throwing the ball incredibly well, while the Broncos are focusing on the ground – turnovers are going to be key for this game.
I suspect the experience Patriots will do just enough to win this one but it’s going to be close, and going to be a battle.
My Prediction: New England 30, Denver 26
Who will win the Texans v Ravens playoff game?
See results without votingJanuary 15th 1:00PM: Texans v Ravens
This game may turn on how well Yates can handle the pressure of a playoff game on the road. This is a battle of two efficient teams that are likely to use the short pass to move the ball up the field quickly and efficiently. Baltimore will have to watch out for Houston’s running game, and one wonders whether the Houston defense will be up to the task.
This could come down to subtleties – it’s one of the more interesting match-ups and very hard to predict. I suspect that Baltimore will be more confident as Houston does have a few injuries – but on the day it remains to be seen if this will make a difference.
Baltimore 21, Houston 17
Who will win the Giants v Packers playoff game?
See results without votingJanuary 15th 4:30PM: Giants v Packers
The Giants will point to history and predict that they’ve been to Greenbay and won before – Greenbay will point to their Super Bowl rings from last year. However, history isn’t likely to play a part.
The Packers have Jennings back to assist them, and their offense is firing on all cylinders. The Giants are finally fairly healthy but you wonder if their defense has enough to stop the Packers – if the Giants turn up then this could come down to one mistake, and with the way Manning is playing I can’t see it coming from the Giants – if the Giants don’t turn up then this is going to be a walkover.
I have to have one upset, and considering how well the Giants have been playing and how close to losing the Packers have been over the last few weeks then I can see the Giants pulling off another upset.
My Prediction: Packers 31, Giants 34
Based on the polls below:
Who will win the Superbowl?
See results without votingMy Pre-Season thoughts:
Here are the teams that have impressed me in the pre-season:
Lions - could be the surprise team of the season - they've been improving for a few years and have a pretty solid defense - could even steal the division from the Packers.
Cardinals - as an Eagles fan I feel the Cardinals got a real steal with Kolb - they have a weak division so could do well and gain a lot of confidence.
Packers - simply such an experienced team who now have the winning habit.
Patriots - need I say more?
Eagles - not sure yet - if Vick is hit, they will fail - if Vick is protected they have the potential to win.
Jets - awww man - never sure about this team - plenty of attacking options, but they seem to lack that extra 'step' - could be Superbowl bound - could be a big failure.

Do you think the redskins are that bad
It is difficult at this point to put together a good ranking. Injuries and the schedule play a huge role in ranking teams. Up front I believe the Packers and Patriots will battle for the Superbowl. I think the Bucs are going to surprise a lot of people this year. Look for the Chargers to come out gunning. I like Falcons but their D Backs too small. Some times will remain where they were last year. I was disappointed in Steelers Superbowl performance and they showed where they were vulnerable. Colts are not the team they were even with Manning. Still good enough to win AFC South. Look for a strong year from Rams. They are young and on the way up. Something like the Bucs. Should be a good year for games. In this league it seems anyone can win.
Just one caveat: Place Pittsburgh at the top: they have no weaknesses and if the new rule about kicking off is maintained, this favors teams like PGH with great defenses and long pass threat on offense. Steelers' offensive line is even better this year with Colon and Pouncey healthy and Ben R. has shown he can pass even with weak line. Barring numerous injuries, Steelers will roll to Super Bowl and defeat the Packers as they blame themselves for last year's Super Bowl give - away and have a score to settle in more than one way.
lions, eagles, browns need to be higher. colts, dolphins,49ers lower
I'm a big Cowboy fan lets get that out there first! UUmmmm.... I really think that the Packers will repeat but I think its gonna be against the Patriots this year and not the Steelers tho.... even tho they are looking great during Preseason....I dont think Big Ben will stay that healthy all the way through the season! Some eye poppers to look out for tho could be...Rams, Lions..... and yes the Redskins are that bad.... and the Eagles are getting too much credit in our devision which is not right.... and the Giants are jus washed up! Cowboys will win the East
I believe the Texans will win the division. They have a very good defense this year and the offence is at their best. For some reason they don't get the credit they deserve but time will tell. GO TEXANS !!!!!!!!!!
Lino's going to kick's everyone ass this year. based on the play they already made so-far this year...
Everyone wanted to make Vick a god before the falcons game. What they didn't count on was Vick losing the ball when he scrambles as he does 35% of the time. No one thinks the falcons are as good as they really are. I think it's time for some respect for the falcons.
Expect more big wins from cinci. Dalton is improving, and the team is no longer being carried by one player.
I THINK COWBOYS VS.RAVENS,COWBOYS WIN
i love the BENGALS a total tomboy who loves her the bengals. i hope we go far in the platoffs im gunna be sad if we dont! hopefully we can beat houston this time!
thx jordan i love andy dalton hes so darn adorable! plz do us good tommorro boys all i want is a WIN!!!!
The Saints should fly right over the game, did you even see there game against the lions this year? They whooped `em. Just because they almost beat the packers doesn`t mean anything exepct that they were on there game that game. The Saints are definately going to win.

The Patriots number 4? Did you watch last nights game against Tampa? Indianapolis ahead of the Not Yets. Rex's big mouth ought to move him up ahead of, (it's the team's fault if we lose and my fault if we win), Manning.
