Hot items for Christmas

Well we’re just entering summer and I already find myself thinking about Christmas. And with some of the cool gadgets that have been introduced, or are about to be introduced then now is really the time to start planning and pre-ordering for Christmas.

Already there are some very hot items and I am really excited to get my hands on at least some of these wonderful little items – maybe Santa will read this hub!

iPad / Kindle Fire:

The iPad is perhaps the most wanted Tablet available and there's no doubt that I want one! However, Amazon are introducing their very own tablet in the form of the Kindle Fire - it's a color eReader, a movie player, a music player, an internet browser and also has lots of Apps - maybe not quite as good as the iPad, but for $200 you cannot go wrong!

Kinect / Sony Wand:

Did I mention I was a geek? Well I for one am very enthusiastic about the up and coming products from Sony and Microsoft that look like they will revolutionize the computer gaming industry. I’ll probably get the Kinect first, as it looks simply amazing, but I’m sure I’ll end up with the Wand too! Both promise unparalleled control over a console, tracking motion with the use of a camera (in the case of the Kinect) and a wand a camera (with Sony’s PS3). This takes Wii’s motion detection controller to the next level.

Lego Star Wars

I have a brand new grandson and now is the time to start collecting some of the fantastic Lego Star Wars items available – OK so he won’t be able to play with them for a few years, but I’ll have to check that they work properly. The latest and greatest item is the LEGO Star Wars 8092 Luke's Landspeeder – so this is a must buy item for me!

Nerf Guns

OK so they’ve been around forever, but for some reason this is suddenly a craze again – so I really need to stock up with the latest products to be able to ambush my teenage daughter!!!

Global Warming Mug & other green items!

OK so I like coffee and I like saving the world – so this is a great gift and also a hot political issue combined into one!!! While we’re talking about green issues – now as I’m a professed geek and it’s obvious that I have every gadget I can get my hands on then I need to think about saving energy - the Electric Consumption Power Monitor allows me to do this by monitoring the power consumption of my house!

Commodore PC64

It looks like the old Commodore 64 but packs the punch of a traditional PC - just for nostalgic reasons it could be one of the hottest selling retro PCs of the year - it's rumored to be out before Christmas, only time will tell!
