Final Fantasy XIII: How to beat Ushumgai Subjugator.
77How to beat Ushumgai Subjugator.
This is one of those battles where a little luck comes in handy as Ushumgal Subjugator can do some serious damage very quickly. As Hope doesn’t have much HP this can become a problem very quickly.
Ushumgai Subjugator is one of those battles where atrition really works; keep defensive until you have enough HP to be offensive, but watch your HP carefully. With luck, and the right strategy you'll be OK.

Here is a general strategy to beat Ushumgai Subjugator
- Keep your HP high – where possible keep everyone’s HP above 50% as Ushumgal Subjugator will soon knock out Hope or other characters.
- Start of setting up your buffs; be very defensive and try and reduce the amount of damage Ushumgal Subjugator can do – the less damage the boss does the more chance you have to go on the offensive.
- As soon as you feel you have limited the boss’s effectiveness, switch to slash and burnt and begin dealing out some serious damage yourself.
- Keep an eye on your HP and switch to war and peace or lifeguard where necessary – you must try and keep your HP up so that you don’t get some characters severely crippled.
- When healed, re-take the initiative by going back to slash and burn.
- Dual casting can work if you have the boss’s chain gauge over half full, but it doesn’t always work so be careful as you don’t want to lose the progress on the chain gauge.
- If Ushumgai Subjugator uses the tail hammer, be careful – switch back to a healing paradigm and heal up quickly – this is his most potent attack and it’s likely to put Hope and Snow in trouble.
- Ushumgai Subjugator has an overdrive mode which improves his attack with a buff, but reduces his defense. It is very risky, but if you attack him while in over-drive you can rack up a lot of damage very quickly - I’d say to only use this when your characters have maximum HP, and even then it may not be worth the risk.
Thanks buddy....Honestly I just went Commando and Medic and beat him, little longer then switching back and forth but atleast I still be him.
Wow, Simey. I just got a console and I can't wait to play this game. It looks truly amazing. I loved the video here too! Great hub!
Beat it on the first try I read this before hand and it helped alot. Thanks man!
Another thing I found; if you apply Fortisol and Aegisol before the fight, it helps a great deal. I beat him in 2m 10s ^^
Had Hope cast fireward and protect at the start and continued to renew. Was easy.
If you wanna Master every single Boss Fight without the skill,
max out your Crystarium before every fight, the grinding sucks but it pays off in the fight.
Ushumagis "buff" is more of a disadvantage than helpful he rebuffs two stats for power one might be his atb so take not of that and heal up and use that "buff" to send his ass home
