75How to beat Aloeidai in Final Fantasy XIII-2
Final Fantasy XIII-2 is already throwing up a nice variety of bosses - each are different and while the underlying strategy is similar, different paradigms work better for different bosses! The strategies listed on these pages will work - I do not claim they are the best strategies though!
Aloeidai immediately casts a few status ailments (deshell or deprotect) on your party so you will need Cait Sith to use Esuna on your trio immediately.
You will want to try and stagger Aloeidai quickly so I suggest using two RAVs immediately and then switching to COM/COM/COM once you have the stagger. You want to try and do maximum damage during the stagger.

Make sure you have the following paradigms prepared:
- SEN/SEN/SEN
- RAV/RAV/???
- COM/COM/COM
General guide:
- Start with RAV/RAV/??? to Stagger
- Switch to COM/COM/COM to do maximum damage.
- Switch to SEN/SEN/SEN
- Go back to RAV/RAV/??? to Stagger
- Switch back to COM/COM/COM
- Repeat as necessary
After the first stagger Aloeidai will cast a resistant barrier around itself – you’ll have to stagger him again to remove the barrier – at this point switch quickly to RAV/RAV/RAV so that you minimize damage from his next attack. Keep on healing and casting shield when you can.
Then switch back to COM/COM/COM to finish the battle – repeat steps above as necessary.

The easies way to beat him is to not let him stagger! That's a fatal mistake buddy! :) keep trying you guys. Why make him stagger if after he staggers he cast that barrier which makes it double the effort to beat!!! Watch for his stagger gage switch from paradigm from syn syn syn to rav rav med to com com com! Guarantee a win!
