Assassins Creed II Cheats
73Assassin's Creed 2
Assassin’s Crede was one of the most innovative game to hit the gaming market in recent years. With superlative graphics and a refreshing game style that didn’t simply rely on brawn, it set the standard that games should aspire to.
With similar game play, Assassin’s Creed 2 is set in Renaissance Italy; with a story steeped in brutality, vengeance and conspiracy, the game features much more to challenge the hardened gamer. There’s no doubt that this game will be a classic, and it will appeal to experienced players as well as those new to the franchise.
Like most games of this sort, there is a certain ‘knack’ to playing the game. While I have been unable to find any cheat codes yet, I have found a couple of sites with walkthroughs and also found some information on ‘unlockables’ – as I find more I will add them!
General Hints
Aside from the full walkthroughs available on the web (see links below) there are some helpful hints:
- If your weapon becomes impaled or buried in a target, simply pick up and drop the corpse – the weapon should then un-bury itself and be re-useable.
- Looting dead bodies may help you increase the number of knives you have, or help you find medicines.
Combat Tips
Soldiers with Spears - the easiest way to eliminate these is to try and grapple them - the reach of the spear makes this difficult though.
Armored Soldiers -if you can disarm these soldiers then you'll have no problem killing them - again due to the fact they have longer weapons this is often difficult.
Groups - generally the best tactic is to keep moving, and avoid being surrounded. Try and isolate individuals and go for the quick kill. If you try and fight more than one opponent, at the very least try and keep them in front of you - you'll soon lose if you let the opponents get on your side or behind you.
Archers - not normally difficult to deal with unless there are many of them - if you can escape the fight you are in, run at the archer to force him to drop his bow and draw a sword. Of course, if you can shield yourself from the archer with a soldier, you can get them to help you in the fight!!! With multiple archers though, this doesn't work well and it's really best to try and eliminate them quickly.

Un-Lockable Equipment
By performing some actions within the game you can unlock some pretty decent equipment:
Condottiero War Hammer – simply collect 50 hidden feathers and this super War Hammer will appear in the shop in Villa Moneriggioni – of course the hard part is collecting 50 feathers!
Auditore Cape – with 100 feathers in your pocket, you simply have to talk to Mario (also in Villa Monteriggioni) and he’ll be nice enough to give you this cape.
Un-Lockable Abilities
By performing some actions within the game you can unlock some cool abilities:
Climb Leap Ability – once you complete the ‘Monkey See, Monkey Do’ mission for Rosa you’ll earn this ability – this is a pretty cool ability as it lets you make longer jumps as you climb – thus some of those out-of-reach hand holds, ledges etc are no longer out of reach!
Disarm Combat Technique – once you’ve complete the ‘Evasive Maneuvers’ mission for Mario, you’ll unlock the Disarm Combat Technique – this is one of the most useful techniques as it allows you to counter weapons that are normally too heavy to counter.

Easter Eggs
I’m not a huge fan of Easter Eggs, but some people like them!
Mario Quote – when you are escorting Claudia and Maria, and are ambushed, Mario will rescue you – when you first chat to him he says “its-a-me, Mario!” – hmmm, exciting eh! Someone tells me that this is a reference to Super Mario?!
Broom Hammer – if you see someone sweeping the streets, simply pick him up and throw him – he’ll drop his broom. Pick it up and you’ll have an extra blunt weapon – you can do this with other NPC characters too.
From the Deep – in the Assassin’s tomb in Santa Maria Dell Visitazione, you’ll find a very large flooded room – there’s a lever – so pull it! – if you peer into the water you’ll see a shadow after a while – pull the lever again and peer into the water again and you’ll see a tentacle reach out of the water.
